JUNIORS

The Clematis Junior Fire Brigade was formed in 2000 to give aspiring firefighters in the Clematis area a place to train and prepare them for moving up into the senior ranks. The Clematis Junior Fire Brigade train every Thursday from 7:00 pm until 8:30 pm. Their Training includes Search and Rescue, Fire Fighting skills, Communications, Map Reading, Smoke in the Hall, Competition training, Drafting, as well as many other activities.

Every Month the Junior Fire Brigade has a general meeting just like the senior brigade. At this current time the only funding that the junior brigade does it selling Raffle tickets at the Emerald Winterfest.

Currently Clematis has 7 Junior Members. We currently have 4 Junior coordinators who are in charge of organizing activities and supervising the juniors.

The Clematis Junior fire brigade was featured on Channel Nine's "TODAY" show back in 2003. After one of the Juniors emailed into Channel nine telling them all about the Juniors. Nick McCallum came out to a camp that was being held in Gembrook and interviewed the Juniors. The story was then ran the following week on the "TODAY" show.

If you are interested in joining the Clematis Junior Fire Brigade come along on a Thursday, juniors runs Every Thursday (except school holidays) from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm, you can join if you are between the ages of 11-16. At the age of 16 you can move up to the seniors and attend fires. So come along and you can get to know everyone.
